NNIT PH Explore Gives back to Community
November 14, 2014 – The day started very early and as for me it's the continuation of my Friday. As my shift started late afternoon, waking up early is always a fail, so instead I choose to wait until Saturday morning and join the team. I slept all the way from Makati to Laguna, to recharge for the whole day activity.
NNIT Explore held its 1st official activity, a community service in Pangil, Laguna, where there are 100 pupils who will receive a set of school supplies, and a little side-trip adventure.
Growing up in a Jesuit upbringing, being in service to others is one of the core values, and personally my favourite. When we arrived, the participant and the locals are already ready and waiting for us.
We have prepared a simple program for the event. We started it by simple welcome address from the Barangay Officials and an introduction of who and what is NNIT. And the favourite, was the games. The kids are very enthusiastic and excited as well as our NNIT team. The best part is the gift giving. Watching and seeing every kid enjoys the activity, and saying a simple "Thank you" is just as consoling as it can be. And yes, Thank you very much, for NNIT PH and everyone who make the activity happen and a success.
We spend the rest of the day, at Pangil River Eco Park. The team are group together to bring packed lunch, and we had the "lusog-busog" boodle fight lunch. Afterwards, we have taken the 20-30 minute walk to reach the Ambon-Ambon Falls. Everyone is eager to see the falls, and I enjoyed the cold water, and the balsa ride. The walk was a little bit tiring but so much fun.
